It hurt to imagine she wouldn't be there, watching his family grow up. Already the wolves had waged war against Inferni, and she felt herself on the wrong side of the line, as usual.

Figeding slightly, the amber colored woman dropped her gaze to her feet, tears brimming her eyes. "I guess this is goodbye."
