Into the Woods (X'yrin, Jace, AW)
#1
Dated: December 4 at sundown

After a day spent in the resplendent Gampo Abbey garden, Indira felt possessed by a sense of purpose. She finally felt comfortable calling Ichika no-Hoen home, and now it was time to make it a more permanent bond. Jace Wolfe had given her an initation task before she could take a rightful place within this collection of canines, and now she was ready to seize the chance and to take her own place amongst those with permanent ranks. For some reason, now it felt like the time was right and she did not want to wait any longer.

In her two legged form, Indira appeared to be a gray blur against the setting sun. She let her senses guide her, picturing in her mind the scene from the mountain top where she had met the Yakosu and gained her task. Jace had charged her with the task of gathering enough wood for an Ichikan bonfire, something that would bring the pack together. And now she was ready to prepare for her role as a part of this whole that made up Ichika no-Hoen.

Indira’s pale blue eyes traced the shadowy figures of wooded giants as she reached Phoenix Forest. She had seen it from above when she had first come here, from atop the Halcyon Mountain. She stopped herself as she stood amid the quiet giants, listening to the small chirping and whispers of the insects that were preparing for nightfall. She wanted to respect the lives of these perennial giants, because it seemed that the presence of these trees made this place magical.

She lacked tools to bring down the wooded giants anyway, but decided she would rather not due that. It seemed sacrilegious. Instead, she turned her pale eyes to the ground, looking for branches that might have fallen because of the winds of winter. Surely, there would be enough. She did not care if she had to search the forest floor all night to accomplish her task.
