OOC Titania in Lupus. Day time. At CD borders probably near the river. Smile For Soran.

Word Count → 400+

The novelty of being free and on her own was quickly wearing thin. The girl had left her pack for good just a couple evenings ago and already she had endured hardships that she didn’t foresee when she made the decision. When you were alone you needed to keep moving – just like her mother had taught her – because in this world an idle loner was a dead loner. And a loner who tried to stake a claim without a way of backing it up… well, that arrogance could earn a fate worse than death. Still, it was not as though Titania wanted land of her own. She wanted this, she wanted to be free to do what she chose, free of someone else’s boundaries. She wanted to experience the world and get a taste for the wild, because soon she would be living in it. Soon Zalen would come for her, and then life would be… paradise.

This was certainly the right experience to make her appreciate that paradise, too. She never thought she could be so hungry. She hadn’t prepared for this, and the last thing she’d eaten was a bit of old game, just a scrap really. She had always had the pack to provide her food. As history had proved many times, Titania was no good at hunting small animals on her own, and she was too small to bring down any larger game alone. She was prepared to leave Cercatori d’Arte, but only with Zalen – then they would be able to hunt together. The choice to go on her own before he got there had been her own, and it was only one in a list of hasty, poor decisions.

Her next mistake had been trying to eat a hovel of bugs when she couldn’t catch anything else. Protein was protein, so she had wolfed them down, but it did nothing to curb her hunger and only served to make her a little nauseous for a while. Oh yes, she was in a sorry state now, and if she didn’t have Zalen to look forward to, she probably would have swallowed her pride, tucked tail, and gone back home. Yet the thought of him gave her strength, despite her hunger…

Of course, her hunger only led to more bad decisions, and clouded her common sense when she realized she lurked somewhere near a pack’s borders. She didn’t know which pack it was, or anyone who lived there, but she did know that packs meant food, so driven by her stomach and the sound of running water, Titania padded robotically toward the borders of Crimson Dreams.
