This is home. Nayru took in a breath, committing the scent of her new home to memory. And yet, part of her refused to admit this place could be anything other than a temporary place. How long would X'yrin insist Nayru stay with her? Until the pups were born? Until they were two months? Four months? The den was not so big that they would never notice the other's presence, and if Saluce were to be a frequenct visitor surely the man would not wish to always see his Jiryu when he came searching for the lady of his heart. Sooner or later Nayru would have to move on, she could not be a permanent fixture in X'yrin den and the thought of that made her suddenly homesick in a manner she had never been since arriving in Ichika no Ho-en.

Images of the glass green house, encased by the stone walls of the garden came to her. The old oak tree, the stone well still filled with fresh water only yards from her home. The warm dog house built into the green house, which captured the sun's heat and made everything in her home green. That would have been ideal to birth and raise the pups. Or the church, where she herself had been conceived. The stained glass splashing color against everything in the early morning, the warm fireplace in the tiny kitchen and the snug little bedroom in back. That would have been the place for her and her pups. Nothing in Ichika no Ho-en called out to her in quite the same way those places had, yet she was too weary to fixate on the longing for places past, and shook the images from her mind's eye.

Nayru sensed X'yrin settle at her feet, and the home sickness wore away a little. The Nomad would take good care of her, though Nayru hate the idea of needing the care of anyone. Yet her friend was steadfast and Nayru felt comforted by the woman's presence. Even with the tension in X'yrin voice, as the woman mustered up wind to say words that Nayru's ears perked up to hear, the woman was a reassure. Yet whatever X'yrin had meant to say did not come, and Nayru took the question she did ask at face value. "Ravenous." Whatever the lady had really wished to speak would not have to take a backseat to Nayru's ever insatiable hunger.
