Strel was out, patrolling in the winter wind. It was getting colder as the days went on. He had adorned himself in his winter clothing, despite his fluffy thick winter pelt. It was more a matter of accentuating himself than anything else. The waterproof coat of fur blocked out the cold and wet and kept him nice and warm. Thus, his clothing was made of light material that kept him from overheating. Granted, the scarf at his neck was still rather thick but that did not mean it was affecting him more than the trousers or vest were. And as much as he did not need them, he like how it looked.

He heard a howl, loud and clear. He gave back a rather lazy call, to inform whoever it was a leader was on their way, as well as to prevent from anyone else bothering to intercept. It was faster if he came than anyone else. This was how it had to be; Strel preferred that he keep the middle man out and simply let it be a quiet, private session between the caller and the leader. Granted, that really only applied to strangers eager to join the kingdom of misfits. However, it was just as important for those not seeking acceptance, who had a matter of urgent discussion. Hopefully, it was the former rather than the latter. No news was often the best news. News often came on deadly wings.

The Dauphin approached the stranger, smelling him long before his lavender eyes saw him. It was no one of the kingdom, but there was the faintest scent of one. Perhaps the stranger had encountered one of the courtiers? Strel approached the strange man, back tall and tail flicking behind his back. "You are on Cour des Miracles borders, stranger. What do you seek here?" The smell of the court was stronger here, on the border, but that faint smell of someone was still present. Strel could not put his finger on it.
