I had this dream once

[html]Shattered Coast, for Wayne Smile

Winter was upon them. His work in the Court's stables was slowing, and the male found that there was little for him to do once the basic chores were finished. Though, Alder had taken to this new lighter routine. It left him time to prepare and study the bloodlines that were housed beneath the stable roof, to ponder over the spring time foals and the pairings that would come in the next seasons. In the cabin Anann had given him he sat at the a table by candle light with the measurements and descriptions of his stock and worked out a plan. It was interesting work, the books he read educating him on the art of breed manipulation and trait honing.

But it did not mean that he could neglect his dearest friend. Hawthorn needed special care and attention, though it may have just been Alder's imagination. His first horse, and his favorite was the one he chose to take on the journey along the coast. Once again he was on his way to Crimson Dreams, a visit to his mother's home. Though his rank was among the Court a part of his heart still resided with the Dreamers.

Alder took the route along the Shattered Coast. Far enough away from the coast line that the trail was easy for the horse's hooves, Alder and the impressive black and white stallion wandered with a casual and even slow pace. With out the rush he had felt in the early Fall to check on his mother's well-being Alder took the time to bond with the stallion, low-speech passing between them.

They spoke of the other horses, the work that Alder had been doing (though not as in-depth for his low-speech was not that complex) and the stallion concluded that they needed more mares to choose from. The tree-named male laughed deeply, a chuckle that came from the wells of his chest. Of course, Hawthorn's harem could never be large enough...
