The tawny male followed the two of them, making Boothe growl again, but Sophie nudged her brother's ribs and nipped him lightly as Trigger spoke, her wide eyes following him curiously. Daire and his look-alike were getting more and more violent behind the larger male, but Sophie's eyes were more focused on the one who kept saying that word, 'safe', and confusing her. She rubbed her nose on her leg thoughtfully, still half-hidden beneath her brother, while Boothe kept his ears pressed against his head and his lips pulled back, being as threatening as a puppy could possibly be.

The two young ones' eyes were drawn to the object flying through the air a moment later as Trigger leaped up and snatched it, their ears flattening and the two huddling together for entirely different reasons as they saw the dreaded weapon. Daire had threatened them with it on occasion, on the journey; they'd learned to fear the knife, and seeing it now made Sophie whimper and Boothe growl like a little motor. They hardly saw Leon threatening Daire, Sophie only tearing her gaze away when the oldest male was finally gone.

Leon approached, and she hunched down and whimpered at his bloody, frightening face, retreating until only the tip of her nose was visible from beneath her brother's body. Boothe himself hovered uncertainly, and then scrambled until he no longer stood protectively in front of his baby sister, but huddled beside her, forcing her to become visible for a moment before they both burrowed under the ever-creepy Bug, the doll being so large compared to their small bodies that it was very easy for only their backsides to be visible after a short time. The twins whined to each other, then Sophie burrowed far enough so that her head peeked out on the other side of her doll, her eyes blinking up at Leon just as he ruffled Trigger's fur and introduced himself.

Her ears flickered uncertainly against her head, though it wasn't visible beneath Bug's body; but as Leon asked for their names, she weaseled a bit more of her head out from under the doll, and pressed them flat against her head, eyeing them warily. Sophie is Sophie. She whimpered finally, very quietly in case they hadn't been addressing her. An'...Boofe is Boofe.
