Sophie almost stepped over the border to investigate an odd-smelling flower, but some basic instinct warned her that would be a bad idea. Instead she stood where she was, and stretched her neck as far out as it would go, attempting to reach the sweet-smelling rose from where she stood. It was too far away, though, and she pouted cutely as she found that out.
She nearly jumped out of her skin as someone shouted, and then looked up and around wildly as there was a short howl. The older boy came to a stop in front of her, and she gazed up at him with wide eyes, her tail curling between her legs uncertainly. He didn't seem particularly hostile; it was just that she had the sudden feeling that she shouldn't be here, and she wondered if she were going to be in trouble now. Staring up at him and frowning sadly, she scratched a paw on the ground, her ears pressed back against her head.
'M Sophie. She mumbled, and peered up at him. She noticed him looking at Bug, and followed his gaze to the sad-faced toy, adding, Tha's Bug. Just to be thorough. She backed a bit farther away from him and the scent marker, wondering if perhaps that was why he'd come at her so loudly, and added, quite bravely, Who you?
She was still not quite brave enough to meet his eyes, however, preferring instead to watch the pattern her claws made as she scratched at the ground.
