Word Count :: 431 Time to get fuuuuuuuuuu

The trip back from the borders had been uneventful, and Yegua barely protested at the added weight of Vesper seated behind him. They had just driven off a trespasser to Inferni, some fool wolf with a death wish. Vesper had been slightly injured but nothing too major, but Helotes had been able to convince her to shift and ride home with him. In all honestly, he just wanted to see her in her Optime, a form he rarely saw her in; and despite it being somewhat lanky and androgynous he still liked the look of the female’s body.

They arrived quickly at the mansion and Vesper nearly teleported off his horse to the ground, bitching about the fight and him. He gave her a sly smirk and dismounted, Shut your whining, is that any way to treat your knight in shining armor? He laughed, knowing that this would annoy her to no end. Looking over in the distance he saw the fire pit area, still smoldering but whoever had set the fire there had since abandoned it. It was cold out and Helotes would like the warmth of the fire… and some company.

He became sober again, Vesper, let’s talk. Would you go to the pit and restart the fire while I put away Yegua? He wondered how she would react to his asking her so kindly. Either way, she had to comply, he outranked her. Helotes then lead Yegua to the stables and put her away, making sure to put a blanket on her for the cold night. He then stole silently into the mansion, making sure to avoid anyone and slipped into his room where he retrieved the blue bottle of vodka that he had won from Carrion those many moons ago. He had hardly touched the stuff, for there had been no reason to drink and no one to share it with. Now though, Helotes found he had both of these excuses to drink the fiery liquid.

Quickly he moved back outside into the frosty evening and found Vesper had managed to start the fire back up, most likely aided by the still glowing coals that laid there. He sat himself upon on of the many logs surrounding the fire pit, and held the bottle aloft for her to see, Thought we’d celebrate the chasing off of that son of bitch, eh? He grinned again, knowing full well that she most likely had never partaken of the drink, seeing as how she had reacted so strongly to the tea the oriental wolf had given her several weeks prior.
