The large mountain dog had noticed the chilly weather, even through his perpetually thick coat; being in a northern pack in a northern area lead to him noticing these such things. In his tall, thick, and cloaked Optime form, the man lumbered through the Ichika lands, heading to a part of the lands that was familiar to him - the forests in the southeastern parts of Ichika, the forests of pine and fir that reminded him of the high mountains that he was accustomed to, and longed to be again.
He could see the forest before him and was reminded of the tale that created the pack; the joining of Dahlia de Mai and Phoenix Valley, two packs that he had never known but nonetheless appreciated, for if it weren't for them, he would likely never know the Ichika pack as it is today. He made a point to remember the story of their joining when he visited the forest or Dahlia's valley as to honor the sacrifice it took to leave the homes they had had behind and to venture to a new destination in the harsh north; a place that Ansui found welcoming, but other wolves may find difficult to transcend over the mountains.
The scent of pine and evergreen trees hit his nose like a sack of wet cement; the sharp contrast from the cool waters and stones of the areas he enjoyed being was welcomed in Ansui's mind, and he walked through the forests happily. Along the way, he bent down to pick up twigs, sticks, dry branches that had fallen. His heavy stature made collecting such things easy; he piled them in his arms for kindling for the winter, not for himself, for his heavy, thick coat did well against the cool weather, but his thinner-furred packmates, who would need and likely appreciate the fires that the kindling would provide.
