It seemed as though old prejudices rose again. After Tayui pointed out the ghost lingering to the side, few seemed eager to trust him. Tayui wasn't sure if it was simply out of fear or other underlying reasons, but she was not pleased to hear them so afraid of taking the coyote's help. He was the only one who could truly scout ahead in a foreign pack. If they even hoped to breach the borders, they would need his help. It would not do to carry one's pride across the borders if they truly wanted to do any good here. They would have to accept his help or suffer the consequences of being discovered by the border patrol. The Salsolans were suspicious and paranoid, which was likely why so few had heard of their nasty deeds. The pack did not let members leave freely; and Tayui knew they did not let outsiders in either.

There seemed to be some sort of consensus when her sister arrived. Quickly, the situation went downhill when she identified Tayui by her real name and her quest as revenge. Tayui's expression darkened when she heard Jaden begin challenging the other members here. Tayui quickly found herself frowning and then growing angry. This had nothing to do with cowardice or bravery. They had a goal and as guerrilla fighters, they could not try to deceive themselves that they needed to fight openly or honestly. She found herself trying to formulate a way of combatting Jaden's destructive comment when Vesper launched herself into the conversation. She said it far better than Tayui could have and without snapping at anyone. Tayui wasn't sure if she could do that just yet.

"Vesper's right. Bravery is not for us. We must get in to enemy territory, get the slaves, and get out. We can't afford such luxuries and we can't afford to be foolish. If we hope to even breach their borders, we'll have to use all the cunning we have. Terra and Zana will lead because they understand the importance of deception. We can't let our egos get inflated. We still have to get out of this alive. We can be honourable in our methods, but we need to be careful not to confuse that with stupidity or foolhardiness. We have to be smart about this. They're a pack with a lot of strong members and slaves who are trained to obey. They won't go down without a fight and if we need to flee to save ourselves for our next fight, then that is what we will have to do."
