darkest before the dawn

The one time Crimson Dreams pack member had spent his time ridding himself of the scent of those he had once belonged to. Though the women of the pack had been quite polite it seemed that they were a league of ghosts and nothing more. It had taken him nearly a moon to realize that he just didn't belong in the lands of Dreamers and when Zalen had offered him a place in the distant lands of New Dawn he had agreed, pleading himself to the newly formed pack and the members he didn't even know. Lucky for him two of the ranks had come from his previous pack and the alpha was another he knew so he didn't feel completely alone in the new territories. He did however spend his time efficiently these first few days, not wanting his leaders to think that he knew nothing of the daily workings of the pack and it's people.

He would have begun to rip into the muskrat he had caught but his heart just wasn't into it just yet. His gold shot sapphire eyes scanned the small clearing where the den was located. He hadn't even taken the time to begin to explore the caverns yet, having just fallen into the center of the territories. He glanced towards the den entrance for a moment, pondering just where the alphas were for a second before he let his tongue lull out of his maw as he let his eyes close slightly. The dappled light that filtered through the dormant trees was soft and soothing on his pelt as he let the cold bitter soil below him seep into his pelt and cool his body after a long day of trekking through the lands.

The male had been sitting in front of the new pack den pondering an assortment of things as he caught sight of another approaching. He watched with mild interest as the male approached, the scent spoke of his old pack but the new claim of the lands was beginning to cling to him just the same. He gave a slight wag of his tail as his new pack mate addressed him, the seated male dipping his head low in respect as he spoke. 'And to you, brother." He nudged the body of the muskrat towards this new family member as he asked. "Was the trek long for you?" For he knew little of where this male came from but if it was anything like his own pack it had been a long journey in crossing to the northern lands.
