Helotes was out riding today, finally, after a long break from it. Even Yegua seemed to enjoy the exercise and the two of them were galloping through the wastes. It was cold today, dreadfully cold, the snow from the previous night still clung to the ground, but it didn’t bother the fire filled Lykoi and his steed. Helotes let out mirthful, triumphant yips with each obstacle his mount over-came. She had really grown into a fine war horse, and had no fear. Even when a daring fox crossed their path she was not startled but instead quickly changed course to avoid a collision.
Finally, after nearly an hour of full on sprinted, Helotes finally reigned her in. Yegua slowed to a canter, huffing white in the cool hair, sweat beading up on her coat like froth. Helotes bent down and gave her a pat on the neck, which she nickered at. Suddenly though, a voice rang through the air, and for a moment Helotes thought he might be dreaming. The voice, he knew that voice, that feminine lilt. ILUSION!
Helotes turned Yegua on a dime, kicking his heals into her withers and they were off again, at a full spring, towards the sound of the call. It took several minutes, but soon the figure of Ilusion astride Ares came into you. HERMANA! ILUSION! He cried out. She was here! She was finally here!
Adeptly, Helotes pulled Yegua to sliding halt and basically vaulted off her backside. He ran the rest of the way to Ilusion and scooped her form off the back of Ares and spun her around, his throat full of laughter. He then pulled her close to him in a tight embrace, Oh, Dios mío pensé que nunca volvería a verte! Tears finally came to his eyes and he didn’t care, he let them fall, his sister was alive and in his arms.
