She was right, for scolding Helotes for thinking she had been dead; how stupid could he be? Out of all the siblings, he should have never guessed that Ilusion would die first, she was too fierce. Jacinto surely would succumb to his weakness one day, and Columbine to his violence, and Helotes to god knew what, women perhaps; but Ilusion? She’d live forever. When she spoke about biting Lumby, as she so sweetly called Columbine, he could not help but grin. Columbine would surely let her beat him to pieces if she wanted too, he always would spoil their sister much to her dismay.

Helotes listened enraptured as his beautiful sister spoke, his mouth slightly open in awe as she let forth what had happened to her in her time apart from them. She had indeed gone back to their father, just in time to witness the birth of Valla’s children. Three new half-siblings, brand new life that was a part of all of them, too bad that it had to be their father that genetically linked them, but Helotes could not dismay, and his tail wagged as she spoke of how their father looked at the new pups, the way his iron heart seemed to melt. Helotes could feel the twinge of guilt and jealousy as she spoke of this, but paid it no mind; just the idea that his father could be happy gave Helotes a kinder outlook on his father, and a more hopeful outlook on what Columbine might be becoming.

Helotes laughed and bumped his forehead against his sister’s shoulder in an affectionate gesture when she impatiently asked him to hurry up, he looked at her with glistening eyes, Uno nunca podría dejar una última cosa buena ¿verdad? And then he turned to raise his voice to the Aquila when suddenly Columbine was upon them. Helotes could not help but looked shocked for a moment, nearly not recognizing his brother because of the expression he wore, until the large male was right beside them and embracing Ilusion. Helotes instinctively backed up and lowered his ears, preparing himself for the feminine explosion that might occur now that Lumby was touching Ilusion. But then Helotes was being pulled into the embrace by an all muscle arm, and he looked at Columbine in surprise as the male called him brother.

Helotes did not hesitate to also put his arm around Columbine’s shoulder, taking any kind of affection he could from the man, but he could not help but let his trademark grin come to his face, ¿Ves? Te dije que iba a venir. He then laughed, out of complete ecstatic joy.
