Thinking of that drew Columbine slightly back into himself, and though he did not move his arms from around his siblings, the vulnerability that had so suddenly flicked across his red eyes slid back into its normal state of distant distaste.
Columbine did not appreciate Helotes' words, as he interpreted them as condescending. Still, the happiness of seeing his sister overwhelmed any desire he might have to chew his brother apart for insinuating any insecurity he may have had about Ilusion being alive. Such a strong, independent, and self assured man would never be so worried about his sister! No, he did not have those emotions... but Columbine knew telling himself that was merely perpetuating the fallacy he struggled so hard to maintain.
