While he most often took his Optime form to patrol, Ezekiel had needed to cover distance without being spotted so easily. His route took him north, swinging low past the mountain. A roll in the dirty land near the mountain dulled his brilliant fur, though his red feet remained clean as they trod across the snowy landscape. There was no denying the pack that had settled to the north, and he sought to see what could be made from them.

They were small yet, but he was wary and made a point not to linger near the borders. A male led them, along with a much younger female. He snorted at the idea. They were mostly comprised of men, and this idea was less worrying then one might think. Without offspring, the pack would fall. He lingered only long enough to guess at their size before retreating south. This time he moved towards Salsola, swinging eastward and crossing the river. With his trail thus obscured, Ezekiel quickened his route home.

He was near when Helotes’ voice rang across the snow-blanketed bay. The coyote lifted his head and responded to alert the group (apparently, as he was coming to meet one) and hurried on. What he found was indeed a motley collection of figures; two he knew and one he did not. By her appearance, and her closeness to the two men, he could only assume she was the sister that had been mentioned in passing before.

While still in his lupus form, and much smaller than the two-legged figures, his posture spoke of dominance without being entirely too demanding of it. Coyotes did not need such things, though the wolfish blood in him would always expect it. Especially now, while his paranoid mind dreamt of danger from within these very borders. “Family reunion, eh?” He asked, a toothy smile breaking across his face.
