She shrieked and ran as he had hoped and he chased after her, laughing brightly with the boisterousness of youth. His sooty paws left prints on the flooring whenever they hit down. Around him the lights swirled into circles as he ran past them as though blown by the breeze his body made, joining along for the ride of his fun whilst the shadows shrunk back and almost sulked as they could not recapture him within their grasp of malevolence and horror inspiring images. Claws scrabbled against the wood floor as he tried to get a good grip.
His smaller sister was much more agile than he was however, able to turn more sharply than he and so she outmaneuvered him at pretty much every turn. With his larger frame he had to duck under objects she could run under with ease. Already the beginning of the large separation of their heights was becoming apparent. The male had more bulk to him with stockier legs. He gave a small 'oof' as he turned too fast and ended up sliding along until his legs cmae out from under him. He was quick back up onto his feeet though although now even more behind thanks to his small tumble
