The heavy snowfall had abated somewhat and given the sun a few days chance to work its way through that which had already fallen. Coupled with the fact that the current area that Regner was in seemed to have had slightly less snow than the territory surrounding Salsola meant that the snow here was shallow enough for Adelle to walk through.

The puppy had realised this within moments of waking up and after a mere half an hour of conversation in her native tongue, the young wolfdog unused to speaking English at all, Adelle had found herself walking along the ground; excitedly circling her grandfathers ankles as she easily matched his slow pace through the snow. The little pup was dressed up in a small miniature cloak, tailored for her four-legged form out of the same white snow-leopard fur than lines Regner's own cloak. In the old canines opinion she looked adorable, but then Regner was extremely biased in this.

Regner didn't share his daughters enthusiasm, mostly due to their surroundings. The two were walking parallel to an obvious pack scent line, a row of skulls mounted on tall poles. While Regner wouldn’t have been overly repulsed by the display under normal conditions the scent wafting from behind the border had turned him away from this clan sharply and quickly; the smell was easily identifiable as predominately coyote and Regner had not intention of approaching a coyote pack for entry into its ranks after a similar pack had killed his own, unaware that his blood made him as undesirable to Inferni as theirs made them to him.

Regner wished that he did not have to walk along this gristly and dangerous border and exposed the innocent Adelle to it but the tree's in this particular part of forest were thick enough that Regner, unfamiliar with the area as he was, was having trouble seeing the sun to navigate. This meant that he had to rely on the Inferni border to keep him on track, an unattractive prospect and one likely to bring rouble if he wasn't careful.

Still there was little he could do other than hope that the overall lack of threat displayed by an old man and a little girl would keep them from any overt trouble, as it had done so far.
