Regner didn't notice the hiding puppy not because the puppy had hid itself particularly well, but simply because he was too far up to notice it; at over 8 feet tall one tends to miss small details on the ground. Adelle, however, had no such problems. As the puppy saw the odd sight of a pair of eyes and a nose seemingly belonging to a pile of snow the stopped in her tracks, causing Regner himself to stop as his foot knocked into her, and cocked her head curiously.

Creeping forward carefully Adelle gazed at the snow before darting forwards and licking the protruding nose, backing off quickly. The taste and smell provided form being so close told the puppy that there was another canine there and she barked happily, her tail wagging. While the pair had come across several adults on their journey this was the first time in months that Adelle had met another puppy and she was eager to make friends.

Unfortunately her lack of knowledge in English made this somewhat difficult; it had taken Regner a long while to explain to Adelle that she would need to learn a new language, or even the concept of a new language, and she still struggled a lot with English. "He.. Hep… Hellk… Hell-" Adelle pawed the ground, not able to remember the word but knowing that she was getting it wrong. Looking back at Regner the puppy saw her grandfather mouth an "o" noise and spun around happily, "Hello!"

For his part Regner, who had noticed the puppy now that Adelle had brought it to his attention, simply kept his distance and watched, not wanting to scare the pup away before Adelle could play a little, he too recognising that this was the first canine near Adelle's age that she had had contact with in a long time
