As Myrika questioned Nathaniel, Wraith drifted off to follow a similar path as the white doggish coyote. Max seemed to be intent on locating the stray animals, and since Wraith wanted to do well and really help contribute, she followed his lead and set to work. With her nose low to the ground, and only raising it when the wind brought her something interesting, Wraith followed a similar direction as Max. Every so often, she would zigzag away from the group, but always seemed to find her way back. As Max moved East, Wraith swung around to head north-east and try to find the prey from another direction. Eventually, they converged once more and Wraith could see Max's tail wagging. She smelled it too.
Myrika whispered for them to spread out and Wraith immediately took off. She was quick and quiet, as a scout should be, and found herself coming to one side of the caribou. She could see them now -- just barely -- and her clanmates, too, though they were hidden much better. She slunk closer and closer and then closer still, but that was all she dared. She had positioned herself to be at the side and drive the caribou to the lake, while another coyote could attack their prey from behind. Since Wraith thought her speed greatly outweighed her strength, she figured she would be one of the best to charge at the beasts. And of course, she wanted to give Nathaniel a chance to show off and give him the opportunity to choose his role in this hunt. He wasn’t as sure-footed as Max, but Wraith knew that her brother could excel at anything he set his mind to.

She felt herself smile at the thought knowing that she was hunting with her brother and her friends. Staying low to the ground, she waited for the moment when she would attack.
