The fawn was a small one, but a good size meal for a twenty pound eagle. Etalpalli had taken it easily, disturbing the warm quiet of the afternoon. Glancing up, the ice furred female watched as the bird's dark beak tore at still warm flesh. They'd adapted well hehre, it seemed. The blind she still couldn't quite believe her good fortune in finding such a place, granted, it had its faults, but what place didn't? The big thing though, was that she had been accepted, accepted despite her unique set of challenges.
Wind was patroling today, mainly to reacquaint herself with the borders of the pack land, and was going at a good pace. It had taken her some time to get familiar and comfortable with not having Etal tell her where everything whas. The benefits of living in one place over the nomadic lifestyle she and the huge eagle had lived for so long definitelly outweighed any douwnsides, of which were few and far between. She was in her wolf form, a form she had not used over much in her travels as she'd often needed the aid of a can with which to test the terrain in front of her. On a whim, she ambled over to her friend and stole a haunch, much to the opinionated bird's disgust. "Catch her own food, Wind can," muttered the bird darkly, even though she really didn't mind the theft, Etal was never one to miss an opportunity to express herself for fun.
"Sure," the small female said around the shank, "but then I'd miss the fun of hearing you bitch about it." She grinned, blue eyes dancing with humor, tail waving in contentment. Life couldn't get much better than this.
