The pups were dead. Amy couldn't hide the relief she felt, or the guilt that she had needed help to accomplish it. The attachment to creatures that were destined to die was foolish. She decided to put thsi all aside, throwing herself into her work once more. She was heading north to buy some things from Freetown, and start looking for some of the more exotic items that had been requested, including someone who could cast a spell to ward off evil. Amy didn't know what the canine in question wanted with that, but she didn't ask. She wasn't particularly interested, as long as it wasn't used against her.
The night had fallen, and Amy had camp set up. With her pregnancy over she was also able to concentrate more fully on breaking Raoth. The coyote still fought her, but was now learning the full helplessness of doing so as she was now able to overpower him and force him to do things. He had helped her set up, whining softly to himself until Amy had threatened to choke him until he passed out. With everything set up Amy laid out some furs, and started roasting some of the meat that she had packed, glad that they had been seasoned so that they would taste good when done. A couple bottles of alcohol were beside her as well. With the pups dead she could finally let loose and relax.
