Sums up their relationship pretty well.
But anyway, what to do to Raoth...

He was risking it all, but underneath his smooth confidence and smiles, Levent was a very desperate man. His taste of mortality, being rocked back and forth by thrashing ocean waves, had spurned him on in his search with more urgency than ever before. Even now, he could feel the prickle of death with every wine-sweetened breath that reached his lips. She could kill him easily with any of the weapons within reach, with her own teeth and claws if it came to that. She was dangerous, but to survive danger, one had to tangle with it. Just as he had to make a pact with devils to receive the blessings of heaven. Rewards did not go to the weak.

The brown wolf wanted to snarl as she goaded him on more, or perhaps she was giving him one last chance to step away, to spare him from whatever monstrosity about to be unleashed. His ear twitched then, however—a distraction as she glanced away, pushing the smooth glass of the bottle into his waiting hands.

The scarred coyote slave he had noticed but not acknowledged was attempting to flee, to escape the darkness encroaching on all of them from the tango of the two merchants. The would-be sweet words of the woman made the Turkish man shiver although a whole other part of him bloomed into life. Hands unused to exacting cruelty on others clenched, and he stood too, turning to the slave with a grin too broad to be reassuring. The sinister side of the flamboyant trader was dormant but powerful. He needed to prove it to himself somehow, prove how much he was willing to do to get what he wanted. As much as he was good and kind to balance his slimy ways, the shade of his core, of his soul, was yet to be determined.

“I think you’re frightening him,” Levent cooed. His eyes glowed blizzard blue as he walked toward the slave, a hand thrust in his pocket and his gait casual if swaying. He took another sip of the wine, emptying it except for the last nasty dregs, and slammed the bottle into the fire. It burst scarlet and yellow and roared and crackled, flaring and devouring the night as Lev darted suddenly toward the coyote with a wicked grin.
