Upon discovering the approaching presence of the top dog within the lands of thorns, there was only satisfaction to be noted, rising along with a mere suggestion of thrill. Itachi had never made an effort to include himself in the society, and it had eventually been discovered. Months had passed since the title of the Boss’ protégé had been taken from him, but the rank had never been his conscious choice at all. He had drifted like a dandelion seed on the curious wind of Autumn, but it would now seem that he was ready for the next stage of life. It was not without surprise that he had decided to bury his roots here. It had taken time to settle with this thought, but he was certain now; ready.

Itachi could think of a number of reasons for his master’s visit, and found it somewhat unfortunate that it had not been he that sought out the Boss first. There was no way changing what led up to the presence, and the dishonoured protégé rose from his furs and walked out from his strange, new home. Blonde ears leaned back, curious to hear if China too would wake and follow, but no sound indicated that his silent exit had roused her from her sleep. It was best that she was not involved, for he had his suspicions. He interacted with few on a regular basis, but had learned that his home had been attacked at the time when he had been absent from the lands, looking for precious rocks up north.

His name was spoken, and half-lidded sunset eyes grazed the ground before the earthly hued man with the toxic eyes. ”You honour me with your presence, Master.” He had much to make up for, he knew.
