Dhiate let out a sigh of relief at Amy's nod. He'd done well. A soft smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, but he refused to let it show yet. They weren't done yet. His blue eyes grew wide at the sight of they knife, but he found himself unable to move. He looked at Amy nervously. She'd never said anything about mutilation. He glanced back at the knife. Naniko picked up his hand. He closed his eyes. A sharp sting came from his hand, and it was over. He opened his eyes to see Naniko doing the same and then felt their hands meet. A small trickle of blood ran down their hands. And then she was gone with only a few words left in her wake.
Dhiate turned to Amy who was glaring at his new leader's back. He looked down at his bleeding hand and licked the blood away before it could stain his creamy fur. When it was clean, he looked back up at his golden mistress. Her thoughts seemed elsewhere and Raoth seemed preoccupied with his chains.
Her smile didn't seem the happiest, but it was a smile he returned in earnest. He felt her fingers in his hair, and then everything grew a lot brighter. His right eye could see again. There wasn't anything in its way. It was very disorienting. Scars? Why? He didn't belong to her... Not to anyone. Before he could voice anything, he felt the pain in his eye, and half of his vision turned red.
