The scent of the horses called to the feral predator within, but there would never be a time where the desire for primal needs would be unchained completely. Every creature walked around with veiled urges under their skin, and Itachi was no different. There was no particular wish to visit the stables, but it wasn’t fair of him to take his gift for granted. The horse wasn’t a thing he’d wanted to own; he heavily preferred feeling the soil under his own two feet. But it was rude to turn away gifts and the herbivore was his property and responsibility now.

He had come only to ensure the unnamed mare wasn’t in immediate need of anything. Perhaps he could bring his silvery companion along on the morrow, to see if she would take better to it than he had. It would do her well to get out more anyway. He hadn’t taken good care of her lately, and although it could be a dangerous thing to draw her out into plain sight of other Salsolans, he believed she would be safe as long as she remained in his company. Visitors weren’t completely unheard of. But he lacked the proper permission of the leadership, and wondered what kept him from approaching Sirius for approval.

The male would have been quick to leave again if it hadn’t been for another presence that he thought could be worth checking out. Salvia had become a respected member of Salsola, and her rank required respect despite their difference in age. Approximately a year separated them, and that should be nothing. He didn’t know the young woman well, but he knew it was necessary for him to interact with those he was to consider his Family. ”Salvia,” his voice called, gentle in the house of easily spooked herbivores. She seemed to be watching one of the horses.
