OOC Laughs

The bellowing cries of anger jerked Hadley awake. His head slammed into the bed above him as he reacted to what he thought was Amy awoken by screams from his nightmares. It took a moment for reality to sink back in. He wasn't a slave, Amy wasn't there anymore. Hadley had a pack to call his own, and others that promised to not hurt him. His racing heart settled down slightly before the question occurred to him. If it wasn't Amy preparing to beat him half to death, what was the howl for? Hadley crawled out from underneath the bed, looking around. No one was there. Stepping out he quickly moved down the stairs. Outside was chaos, pack members running around.

A panicked whinny caught Hadley's attention, finally focusing the large male's attention. Gently he raced over, moving as quickly as he could. Three strangers were there, stirring up panic. Pack mates fought ferociously to protect them. Hadley, without any true skills at fighting, was unsure what to do. He moved into the panicked herd, gently calming and backing them up. It was harder for the raiders to reach them now, with Hadley standing calm before them. Inside he was shaking, but the fear created by the raiders was nothing compared to what he'd felt before. His mind was clear, able to see each movement separately. A female dog dived towards him, and for an instant Amy flashed into his mind. A panicked whine escaped him before the movement Fritz had taught him allowed him to catch her and toss her back from the horses. Stallions patrolled with him, stepping to trample the female as she scrambled back out of reach.
