For one other please. He is probably likely to be a jerk to wolves encountered?

Ithiel is by Kitty!

Ithiel was traveling again. He was a scout, but his duties did not lie solely within Inferni. He had to keep up his knowledge of these foreign entities, and the place where he camped was just such a place. Situated between the borders of the two packs, Ithiel could make visits on either or send Zedekiah drifting up into the sky to appraise their borders. Just now, the bird was perched in a small tree near Ithiel, who had traveled on foot to remain stealthy. He had no reason to disguise himself, but neither did he wish to arouse suspicions and troubles.

He was armed, the quiver around his back and the bow leaned against Zedekiah's perch. His knife was in its usual spot along his arm, and Ithiel was well-prepared for an approach during the daytime -- Zede kept him appraised of any canine movements, and he had been able to avoid three such potential encounters in this manner. Once, he'd slipped into an abandoned human house and out a second-floor window, slipping through a nearby creek to muddle his scent trail -- this had kept a particularly nasty-looking wolf away from him, and the coyote was glad for that. Zedekiah had spied the brute first, and Ithiel had been able to deftly avoid him.

The dusky coyote was no coward, and he did not balk from a fight, but neither did he wish to stir undue animosity between the coyote clan and the wolves. There were many packs in the land, and their overabundance kept Inferni meek and mild. The dark-hued coyote disliked this, but he understood the necessity of such in an area dominated by wolves. Coyotes were the lesser citizens here, by simple numeric right: wolves far outnumbered them, and more than a few of the hybrids he'd encountered ran with packs rather than Inferni.

Ithiel grunted and let the cross of his necklace drop back against his chest. He prayed on the usual subjects -- for his God to remit him any sins committed, the health of his brothers and his clan, and fruitfulness in his ventures. Zedekiah grumbled behind him, and the coyote directed bright red eyes toward the vulture, who chose not to amend or clarify his statement. The coyote shrugged and picked up one of the rabbits he'd caught for his dinner. Zedekiah had eaten already, evidenced by the torn corpse several feet from Ithiel. The Vigiles set to eating his dinner quietly, his big ears flicking to and fro with the sounds of night. The ocean gurgled and roared below him, several long feet down the sharp cliffs this side of the bay. Here and there, an owl hooted. The quiet was overwhelming, and the dark coyote peered across the bay for signs of Inferni. He just barely saw the opposing shoreline, a thin smear of bright against the otherwise dark and choppy waters. The coyote clan lit no seaside lanterns, of course, but Ithiel looked anyway.
