Hotaru is in optime with Fawkes on her shoulder.

Light, the very word made her sick. Hotaru had given her heart to the male and not only did he cheat on her, but he had the gall to vanish from her life. The grey wolf had tried to ignore her fury, but it simply continued to build and build. Finally she couldn't wait any longer, she had to go see him and give him a piece of her mind. She wanted to show Light that no one should underestimate a blind wolf, especially not her.
With her walking stick in hand and Fawkes on her shoulder Hotaru set out for AniWaya. Getting to the pack lands proved to be a difficult task. Hotaru had only traveled close to the pack boarders once and it was during a hunt. She didn't know the land and even with Fawkes scouting ahead, finding the pack lands wasn't easy. Unlike the time at the festival Fawkes could not recognize pack boarders and had really no way to recognize where AniWaya started. If it weren't for her conversations with Light, Hotaru might not have have found the pack lands at all. Finally, after nearly a whole day of travel, the grey wolf reached the boarders of Aniwaya.
In the time that it took for the blind wolf to travel between packs she had lost her earlier conviction. Suddenly, Hotaru was afraid. She was afraid that Light didn't love her anymore, or worse, that he despised her. She was blind, and at times incredibly helpless. She wasn't pretty and only gave her coat enough attention to keep it clean and her hair short. Hotaru had a horrible temper and would make a terrible mother. No wonder Light had left her. No wonder he had turned to other's for love and affection. Hotaru wasn't worthy of anything like love.
In the end, she decided to call out to him. It took every ounce of bravery and courage she possessed, but Hotaru raised her multi-colored maw and called out to him. When her song was finished she stepped back to give herself several feet of space between the AniWaya boarders and herself. She hoped that her voice would reach Light and that he would come. If not, then Hotaru didn't know what she would do.
