She gets more and more curious with every day , More furious in every way
And she screams out loud, "Why's it happening to me?" And the answer is "It's meant to be"...

Maybe it was out of jealousy that she had decided upon this or maybe it was curiosity. The midnight coated girl wasn't entirely sure and had dedicated much time to pondering over her own emotions and reasoning behind her decision but still hadn't reached a conclusion that made sense to her; either way, she wanted a horse and was willing to go as far as to leave the safety of the pack to acquire one for herself and failure was not an option. Although she knew little about the powerful creatures, she figured since that since so many served luperci that they can't be that hard to catch or all that intelligent. Walking to the borders she was armed with little more then her shoulder bag containing her book and writing equipment, as well as a mixture of strong smelling herbs in a pouch; some she planned to bathe with to remove her scent, others she carried with her to aid in covering her scent.

As she reached them, she found herself surprisingly hesitant to leave regardless of the fact she could neither see nor smell any dangers outside of the borders, within her mind she was fixated on the fact anything outside of her home pack was a threat as well as beneath her. The first few steps outside of pack lands were the most painful, but gradually she grew more confident and comfortable with the feeling of being exposed and watched, keeping her head down she simply made her way over to a small pool of water, dumping half the herb pouch's contents into it she left her bag to the side and bathed thoroughly. With the matter of her scent sorted she began to get to work on the task at hand; finding horse.

Hours had passed and night had began to fall, the shadow coloured girl had managed to locate a small, empty den underneath the roots of a tree, shifting to her lupus form despite how inferior the form was, it was an required sacrifice so that she could wormed her way into the tight space, feeling reassured by the close proximity of all walls, bright green eyes stared out of the only large entrance and there she fell asleep, head rested lightly upon her crossed paws.

Pounding sounded all around her, causing the girl to wake with a start. Instantly she tried to stand only to slam her back upon the confined space, confused and scared her heart seemed to be pounding so fast and so loud she worried if they would notice her, whomever it was outside. Straining her ears she listened and breathed in the scents, noting horse and strangers. Awkwardly she stepped forward and poked her head out from her hidey-hole, spotting the distant figure of two retreating riders. “Lucky” she whispered, wriggling out from under the tree she shifted and began to follow their scents... for eventually the riders would have to dismount and rest for the night... right?

Time continued to pass and diligently she applied herself to the task of tracking the riders without stopping or resting, fearing if she wasted a minute or two she'd lose their trail and her opportunity to 'borrow' one of their horses. Wherever she walked everything looked the same... dark and lots of trees, but that didn't put her off, for she had their trail and they didn't know she was following them. Picking up her pack a little she broke out of her light job into a slight run, one hand raised to hold the strap of her shoulder bag, the other pushing strands of hair out of her face whenever she felt the need to do so. I'm getting close, i've got to be... slowing down she kept to the darker parts of her surroundings, hugging to the trees, green eyes focused and scanning for her targets or her prize.

Picking her path carefully she progressed making as little noise as she could, only to find a river and no scent to follow. Looking around, all she saw was trees and darkness.. no horses … no riders … no nothing. Realization sank into her and her small frame began to shake as panic filled her, stepping back she put her back to a nearby tree and slumped down, hugging her legs to her chest tightly. “It's okay, it's okay. Wait till the sun comes up and you can retrace your steps. You're okay, there’s nothing out here. You are safe” the words were barely a whisper as she tried to convince herself everything was fine. Like this she fell asleep, head rested on her knees and morning soon came.
