The spring days, usually becoming quite warm and sunny had taken a change for the worse. Today it was overcast and quite cold, a sharp wind piercing the pelt of the yearling as she took her daily stroll through the grounds of her clan land. Mis-matched eyes sought heavenward and gazed exasperated at the chilly sky above her, her brow furrowing. Winter had no right to take the land back in it's clutches, not when it had teased the youngster with the previous, beautiful weather. Sniffing lightly to herself, she returned her gaze to land and pressed on, trying her best to ignore the chills that ruffled her mottled fur. Her feet broke stiff branches that littered the ground from the wind, each one uttering a loud snap or crack when it came apart, this and the fact that the wind was not in her favor would set her in a clear disadvantage at the events soon to come, unknown by the youth.

A pair of eyes watched her movements from the treelines, one golden, and the other red. The red pair stood much higher then the golden, and his expression wore completely pure, unadulterated hate for the female battling the winds. It did not matter that she couldn't pick her heritage, no, what did matter is that she was of coyote descent. The stupid bitch would die today, and that is all that mattered. A low, guttural growl issued forth from his maw, and his companion put an hand on his shoulder and gave the other, darker man a warning look. The thought that passed between the two without words was a warning, today was simply to fight, and test the clans strength. This female would be a good, easy test. She packed muscle so she looked like she could put up a fight.

The huntress knew little of the pair of wolves behind her, she wasn't paying attention. Maybe this was one of her many mistakes that day, but she remained unaware. The pair in the trees watched carefully as she neared the woods, stepping carefully through the fallen branches as she continued her stroll. Motioning to eachother silently, the pair crept forward, Sindri carrying a spiked club, keeping care to have it raised so that it did not snag anything. Ludus however, was not that careful. He was angry at the coyote nearing him, and as the emotion raced through his system fueled by hatred, it was all he could do from not breaking into a run and downing the coyote hybrid whore right then and there. He did, however, pick up the pace.

As she entered the woods, Emmanuelle felt a strange emotion, one that she had not felt since coming to this clan. It was dread. It sat in the pit of her stomach and turned, making the female shiver and feel sick. Was there something going on that she wasn't aware of? She had heard a few days prior of an intruder, close to the borders, was this tied to her gut feeling? Turning around, she looked around the forest wildly, her eyes wide and her bow drawn. The female had borrowed it from the stores this day to practise with during the winds, but maybe it would serve a different purpose today. One russet-hued ear perked to her left as the sound of soft footfalls approached her, and she ducked down to conceal herself within the bushes that lie among the trees. Her heartbeat quicked as it got louder, until two strangers appeared before her, looking around and swearing. They had lost the female!

The larger of the two raised his hand to instill quiet, and he inhaled deeply. Smiling a cruel smile, he walked right over to her hiding place and grabbed the female by the arm, wrenching her from the brush. A yelp of surprise left her maw as he thew her to the ground, and then instinct took over. Leaving her weapon on the ground she lept forward with a snarl, unsure of who this intruders were but she knew one thing, they stank of wolf. Just that, wolf. No coyote, no nothing. They were trespassing on her land, and they would not get away without a fight. Her teeth sought for purchase on the male and they gained it, her fangs slicing open a surface wound on his chest. Ludus reacted with surprise, backing up as the wound was inflicted. Sindri was more calculating, and as the female made her attack he made his, swinging towards her with that deadly spiked club.

It grazed her side as she dropped to the ground, hot liquid running down her pelt from the long scratches it left. She didn't feel it, and she wouldn't feel any injuries to come until after the rush of adrenaline passed. The male with the two swords swung them both at her, each one making long cuts down her chest as they touched her, and she yelped out in pain. Barely a moment passed until she was on them again, this time going for the male with the more dangerous weapon. Her jaws clamped around his club bearing wrist and he dropped it, mimicking her yelp in pain. The weapon rolled along the ground until it was in the brush, unable to be found by the searching wolf. Now unarmed, he swung at Emmanuelle, his fist making direct contact with her cheek and knocking her on her ass, and she had but a few seconds to leap up again only to meet the punches and the swords of both males at once.

Blood ran down her face and her arms from the various cuts from the swords, followed by more bruises from the unarmed male. She tried her best, scratching with her claws and snapping with her jaws until the attacks ceased, and she finally realized that she was just slightly out of the woods. The wolf paired left her then, and faded back into the forest from which they came. Emmanuelle however, collapsed onto the cold grass outside of the woods and lay there, her adrenaline fading and her pain beating on her in huge waves. She had multiple cuts on her face, two long cuts on her chest in an x shape, part of her ear was missing, she had a larger, deeper cut going all the way down her spine on her back and a thick cut on her thigh, all of which were bleeding profusely. The wind buffeted her, sending the thick stench of blood all over the area and she just lay there, a pitiful and broken sight to see to anyone who stumbled upon her form. To them, it had been a test of strength. To her, she didn't have barely any battle experience, so the toll was much, much worse then intended.
