She calmed down with his touch, pressing into his face. He licked her cheek softly, glad that he'd been able to help her calm down. Hopefully this virus wasn't infectious, as he most certainly didn't want to catch it, ending up as much of a freak as she was. He pulled back, grinning softly. Life wasn't so bad. Really strange, apparently, with his whole world flipped upside down in a single instant. Not so bad though. The sun still shone and the wolves still hunted. Nothing would change that fact. He nodded his head, expression sheepish as she confirmed she was his first luperci.

Hearing that she'd thought the luperci were evil Tharin considered it. He hadn't really been able to decide how he felt about them yet. On the one hand, their shifting was disgusting, making him physically ill to watch, and the shape was so strange and alien, provoking fear with the thought of not being able to fight one off if one decided to attack him. He smiled sympathetically at her words of wishing that she could have nothing to do with them. Bad luck I suppose. It tends to reach most of us one way or another. He grinned the best he could, trying to look supportive.
