For some reason things weren’t going the way Hadley had expected. She had no idea what his goal was but hoped he would reach it at some point. He looked across the room and stared at something, Isa turned her head to try to see what he was looking at but saw nothing. He laughed when she said she had missed him. He actually laughed.
Hadley turned and his eyes moved over her body before he spoke. The first thing he said made her stop for a moment. He didn’t miss her? At all? She had thought they were friends but hearing that made her think he just didn’t care about her at all. She looked up at him as he continued speaking and finished off the bottle of brandy. Isa got up and pulled out a bottle of vodka, one of her favorites. He mentioned getting to know each other better and she spoke as she opened the new bottle. ”So what do you want to know?” She took a big swing of the delicious liquid and licked her lips as she turned back around to face him. She no longer had a smile on her face but she didn’t show any anger or sadness, just a bit of a blank expression.
