Even though Anatole thought he would be fine, Tayui could not conceal her worry. She thought she would be fine and the result was a week, unable to move, in Casa di Cavalieri, months of pain afterwards, and lingering sensations and throbbing where her wounds were. She thought she could do something, but she'd gotten nothing out of it save for a difficult life lesson.

When he nudged her with his nose, Tayui smiled. Maybe he didn't think he was so invincible after all. She returned the gesture and then moved back when he did.

"Thank you, Anatole. You're very kind. Claudius is truly fortunate to have you in the tribe. I'll find you," she replied, smiling. She would.

Before she departed, she moved to give him one last nuzzle so that she could remember this moment. Anatole had always been tough; he had a tough spirit and a strong soul. So, she valued this talk and his actions. She wouldn't forget it.
