A thin silhouette sat atop the large rock mound, lit from the back by the setting sun. The male had been there for quite a while in deep reflection on the last few days; It appeared he had finally done something to advance himself in life- he saw no downside in his choice to join Anathema. This positive direction surprised Ark'el -seeing as he was much more adept screwing things up than mending them- and he decided to just be happy with it for the while, it certainly wouldn't last. Carefully he leaned forward to peer off of the hill, gazing down into the valleys below. The darkening sky lent little to the ease of his straining eyes, but he scrutinised the terrain anyway- it would be easy for one to hide in and he could never be too careful. Nobody else seemed to be around, and his sensitive ears flicked forward to listen to his surroundings carefully. A soft thud of water against sand resounded in his eardrums nearby and he let his gums pull back in a gentle smile, finally allowing himself to relax. It was definitely a good choice to make camp at the beach.
Ark'el leaned to the side, reaching into his pocket for the matches he brought with him. He was careful to grasp them carefully, but still the container scraped against his freshly-scarred palm and he winced. With his free hand he reassembled the sticks he'd gathered earlier and pushed pieces of dried leaves and grass between the twigs. Heh. A barely passable fire. Dragging the match against it's packaging's side Ark as watched flame engulf it's tip. He had little experience making such campfires, so when he lowered the match to the wood and watched it go up in smoke he couldn't help but release an exhale of relief.
Yay for pretty scenes! A sunset, beach, and a small bonfire.
