Big Grin //358WORDS
the sound of silence,

It was early morning, the sun had just past the lands and still painted the sky with a orange-red glow. Sascha wasn't asleep but he was resting his eyes as he laid on his back atop his bed. Even with the pillow, he was using his hands to rest his head on and he felt quite comfortable like this. The boy had to make sure he didn't fall back into sleep though so he shifted his position eventually where he was now sitting on the side of his bed. His mouth opened to allow a yawn and once he was finished he rose to his feet. With a good stretch of his body out of the way he went to the window to see what the new day looked like and once he found it was like any normal day, he put his raggedy green pants on and gave his brother's tail a pet. Even though there was so much time between now and his death, the boy still missed him. The only difference now was that the thought of his brother didn't hurt as much on his better days.

He had just finished strapping his club to his back when he heard the call from outside, his only mobile ear pivoting to the direction it came from. He grabbed his bag and headed out the door. Unfortunately he didn't have an axe but he was prepared to search for one. Sascha was sure the clan had some for the members to use, he just had to find out where. Long legs marched outside towards the lawn where Alma, the girl he met some time ago, stood waiting. He still wasn't sure if she was able to read or not but he had other ways of communicating so long as the message wasn't complicated. He waved at her and if it were a normal thing for him he would smile but instead his usual expression was there. A twitch of his lips was the best he could do; it was almost like he didn't know how to smile and so he fought himself to stop from attempting it.
