the world shakes

17.04.2012 . 1.30am . Camp Stormbringer . Optime Form

The world was spinning. This fact was something that Saul had been enlightened to roughly three minutes before, when the crashing body of Bran pitching over the log and onto the ground had caused him to stand up quickly. He'd almost pitched forward himself, creamy arms windmilling wildly to try and regain balanced with his senses dulled and his balance all over the place. Those creamy paws had risen automatically to his face for a brief moment, before he checked on his cousin. Niernan seemed on top of things and he watched as the darker of the two Stormbringers dragged the lighter towards the hut a good few metres away. It was a small area to live in, and with the addition of Ezra's hut that completed the circle of huts, the space seemed a lot smaller. But it was cosy and snug and it would serve its purpose for now. Thinking of the huts made him think of Temeraire and Elias, who had been sent to be many hours before and were no doubt fast asleep.

Green eyes automatically sought the bright blue that was Lilin's eyes, slightly glazed and unfocused from the alcohol she'd consumed, as he silently told her he was going to check on the pups. He also couldn't help the crooked smile to washed over his lips and the wave of lust that he couldn't quite feel at the moment before he turned away. It wouldn't do well to embarrass himself and he really needed to check that the boys were safe and sound in the hut. They may have been drinking, heavily might it be added, but none of them were lax enough to leave their camp completely unguarded and one of them would rise every half an hour or so to do a quick sweep around their 'border'. Bran had been the last to look and his stumbling probably could have been heard from a mile away. With a chuckle, his nose wrinkling characteristically, Saul approached his hut where he knew the boys were.

Not wanting to let the cold air in- he'd learnt quickly that the air hole at the top of the hut wasn't necessary as he didn't have a fire inside the hut and he'd closed it up so that the heat was kept in, which it did very well- Saul slipped an unsteady hand close to the deerskin acting as a door and pushed it aside. He snorted softly as he saw the pile of puppy in the middle of the sleeping area- Elias on the bottom and Temeraire half draped over his friends back. Satisfied that they were well, but not steady enough to enter without vomiting, Saul allowed the door to swing shut as he stepped just behind his hut, bracing his creamy paws on strong legs as he took gulping breaths. The feel of Lilin's body pressed against his burned against his side and his alcohol-induced mind told him to go back and find her. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying hard to will away the thoughts that were invading his mind, shaking him to the core.
