For Omni. Sunflower Sunsets.

She paused to lick the blood from her muzzle. The vole was mostly gone, anyway, like the two others before it. Their skeletal remains were scattered around her, and while she was no longer hungry, neither did she feel particularly satisfied. It was too difficult to hunt for larger prey on her own, without tools, but it was too cumbersome to carry ranged weaponry around with her. Really, it had been oddly liberating to have so little. Cassandra sat crouched over her meal in her smallest form. Her cloak and daggers were bundled together and hidden amongst the sunflower stalks, along with the necklace that had allowed her cousin to identify her.

The coywolf liked it amongst the sunflowers, the little forest of green and yellow and brown, tall enough to reach high over her head when she stood on all fours. Being surrounded by vegetation gave her immediate comfort and reassurance, a subtle feeling of safety. But the flowers would not actually provide much shelter when dawn broke again in several more hours, and she would need to find somewhere else to spend the day. Picking the rest of the meat off the vole's tiny bones, Cassandra stood, stretched, and turned back towards where she had stashed her things. The moon was a tiny sliver in the black sky, but the woman still seemed to reflect an eerie, transparent sort of light as she walked through the field.
