Powerful jaws worked furiously as the hungry mother stripped the fish bones clean of their meat. Fish was by far her favorite food, yet she didn't dare take the time too enjoy herself. Despite her rush, Kiara left nothing on the carcass, and soon she was licking her lips and looking for more. Without moving, her sapphire eyes scanned the river for any other prey that might be worth her time. She didn't want to waste to much time on small fry.
Kiara was about to stand when the scent of a freshly killed buck caught her attention. She raised her snout to the air and took in several deep breaths. X'yrin's unique scent floated through the air and was almost completely overshadowed by the smell of food. X'yrin and her kill were quick to appear in the forest and Kiara had just begun to rise when Tharin came bursting through the forest. The arctic wolf froze in surprise at Tharin's sudden entrance, their eyes quickly met before he turned to face the former Alpha. Aggression flowed from his large form as Tharin's heckles raised. Kiara was in such a state of shock that it took her several moments to realize what was going on.
Thankfully, Tharin managed to calm down just as the young mother had wrapped her head around the odd situation. The silver male quickly joined her side and the two exchanged simple greetings. His question wasn't surprising, but it made her heart fall. Ichika had fallen and she was stuck without a pack with two helpless puppies to take care of. White ears wilted as her tail ducked between her long legs. Even though she knew it was silly, the young mother didn't want to admit what had happened. Denial had taken over her mind and admitting what had happened out loud would only make reality fall around her. Instead, Kiara turned her sapphire eyes to X'yrin and strode over to the golden female, her tail wagging low with an apologetic smile on her face. However, the enticing smell of meat pulled the alabaster wolf's attention from X'yrin to the kill at her feet. Kiara stood momentarily hypnotized by the alluring scent of food.
