On my own

The sorrow in Kiara's body was enough to let Tharin know. There was no pack anymore. She was on her own, standing against the predators of the world with her pups. His offer of protection when he'd come with Zalen before came to the forefront of his mind. New Dawn could take care of her. Not that she could travel. Tharin would just have to make sure that the other pack members knew about what had happened with Kiara so they would lend their strength to her as well. She wasn't a member of their pack, but their alpha had deemed his protective actions worthy, letting him offer the pack's protection to her.

He watched her step over to the golden wolf standing before the kill. The warmth in their interactions was enough to assure him that she wasn't a threat, leaving him to move so he could keep an eye on the den and the pups that would surely be hungry enough to attempt to clamber out. His ears twitched, studying the strange female anew at the words. So this had been a pack member. Higher ranked, clearly. Perhaps she knew why the pack had fallen. Then again, from the cold interaction of the other female seemed enough to clear up that question. She was cold, obviously not attached. He watched her warily, wondering if the meal would be offered for Kiara as well.
