Sing, Little Birdie

She had awoken from the coil, but time didn't wait for her. It ticked away and watched her dwindle, turn to dust, and fade. Mentally, she was completely lost, as if left in a fog, while she attempted to attend to her chores with an even more half-hearted attitude. Her discovery had her paranoid, worried and afraid, and it was about time she had confronted the core of her mistake.

She had disguised her scent once more, making the trek to the borders of Anathema, bundled in her cloak as a fire hued songbird followed along behind. Gamble seemed to stick close when she traveled, but kept his distance when within Salsola borders, which made the mottle-pelted dame feel all the more alone and distraught. Cane skimmed and kissed the ground lightly as it alerted the blind woman to obstacles, allowing her to weave the landscape with ease. Wander slowed once the pack scent wafted to her now functioning nose, the septum piercing hardly a distraction anymore, and she hesitated.

It was certainly awkward to attempt and make this confrontation. And even more awkward now that she was at the borders. The dame dared not to venture deeper to find the storm-pelted brute, and she paced for a moment, before stepping a few paces back to lean against a tree. The hooded pitohui fluttered and warbled before perching himself upon her slender shoulder as she began her wait. Surely, someone would come by soon enough. Surely, she would be able to request to speak to the strange, ash fellow if it wasn't him who approached.

After all, the need to speak was something gnawing the back of her mind. An arm wrapped about her belly as she sat, cane at her feet.
