Percival kept quiet, simply observing the exchange between his captain and this stranger.He wasn't one to start conversation with somebody he didn't know unless the need to was dire (such as asking the former male if anybody had survived, for it was an important matter to the jackal), and he had the tendency to keep himself from the business of others. Not only did he wish to be considered polite, but if Percival was known for anything, it would be his extremely anti-social behavior.
He cleared his throat after Tobias had answered about the accident, his expression growing to it's usual blank state.
"Deserved it, Cap'n?" He questioned, but then soon after shook his head, signifying that the remark didn't require a retort.
The jackal hybrid looked around, now knowing that the man he'd wanted selfishly to be alive and well was just that. He had avoided looking at first, but was able at the moment to get a decent look at the damage. It was a terror of a sight he knew would be burned into his memory, and to that there was no denying; he forgot very little. Memories were something he held closely, letting very little slip through, for they were all he had. Besides the friendship he shared with Tobias, Percival had very little to live for, in his mind. He strives to redeem the mistakes of his past, and to be able to do so, he holds on to the memories he is blessed with every second.
He muttered lowly, more to himself than anybody else, as his hard grey eyes still rested on the carnage ridden shore, "It could o' been me..."
