Saul Chibi is by Requiem!

It was hard to get his head around the fact that he and Lilin had just created a pack. A living, breathing pack with their family. It was a hard concept to get around- the two of them had been shifted from place to place for so long that the idea of a permanent home was something foreign now. They'd settled in to their new homes in Jordheim the day before yesterday, their first night as a new pack. It had been strange, waking yesterday morning with the light shining through the dusty window of the house that he had claimed. There was no organisation to his house at the moment and he'd been glad for the day ahead of him. He'd sorted through his house, cleaning it out, finding places for everything and generally making it feel like home. The rest of the day had been spent exploring, marking the territory, allowing his mind to run away with him. He wanted big things for Vinátta and they were going to take a long time to achieve.

This morning had dawned bright once again through his now clean windows and Saul had risen early. The run to the Lake was refreshing, as was the launch into the water. He swam for a bit, cleaning himself and preparing himself for the days exploration. He knew there were certain things that he wanted to find so that when they started building, they would have the tools for it. He didn't know what he was going to find and he didn't plan on being gone for more than a few hours. He told Temeraire where he was going and asked his son whether he would like to accompany him. His son's response was negative but expected- he and Elias had some serious exploring to do.

By noon, Saul found himself ascending into the mountains and he suffered a serious sense of de ja vu once more. He remembered the times he'd crossed the mountains to and from Ichika. He also remembered the last time he'd crossed through and down towards Casa, to drop of the mares until he could look after them again. Absently, he thought that he could now go and collect Maia, but she was close to her due date and he thought it best not to move her until her foal had been born. Lost in thoughts as he so usually was, he didn't realise he'd drifted close to the mines in the mountains until an old wooden board in the ground collapsed beneath him and he stopped, green eyes assessing his surroundings. He stepped back to safer grounds and remained for the moment, wondering if there was anything useful left down in the mines.
