He was asleep. Terra had stared with disbelief at first. He hadn't been asleep before when she'd woken up, either returning with food or eagerly quenching the fires inside her. The coyote was tempted to push at him and wake up to take care of her, but managed to resist. She loved Kit. If he needed to sleep she wouldn't wake him up. Perhaps it was her turn to hunt. Stretching Terra gracefully left the place he'd found for them, thinking about where she could find prey.
Nose to the ground Terra followed the various scents that covered the ground. Her own scent, as powerful as it was, flooded the area, Kit's scent intermingled and making sure it was clear she was already claimed. The dye on her leg had been renewed, much to Terra's displeasure. She'd spent so long trying to get rid of it. She didn't have the courage to tell him how much it drove her mad, as Kit always looked so pleased with himself looking at it. Reaching up a hand she fiddled with the necklaces she wore, about how close they were. Maybe it meant something. But what?
