Hope you don't mind me joining ^_^ Oh, and is Eilam an actual ghost? :O Itachi hasn't encountered another "haunted" person before! Could be fun ;o

Fresh dirt accompanied by fresh death, though he wasn’t truly aware of the small body buried under the slight layer of turned soil. What mostly occupied the blonde Salsolan’s mind was that he was too far from home. It was a feeling he carried somewhat curiously, for it was not for him to feel attachment to people and places. He had been born a ghost, and had wandered through a gray and fatigued world for an eternity. But a gentle female with eyes stolen from summer skies had let colours to swaddle his existence, and slowly, Itachi Lykoi was being born anew.

Nostrils drew in the scented trail of the stranger, so very fresh. Perhaps there was something else as well, but Itachi’s thoughts did not immediately linger with possible signs of a somewhat recognizable presence. His blackened bird was nowhere to be seen, but he knew that its habits wouldn’t allow it to stray too far from him. Strange, how wicked friendships between species seemed to find nurture and grow. It wasn’t the natural order of things, but evolution for canines had changed after the virus had infested their bodies and introduced them to a new sense of reality where so much more was possible.

Scarlet eyes settled on the pacing loner’s back, yet the other remained far ahead of him. As a willing loner in many ways, Itachi knew how to conceal his presence from most senses, but his intention was not to walk veiled along the shadows today. The katana was attached to the rough leather belt that was wrapped around his athletic body, and he didn’t worry about hostile forces as long as he had the means to protect himself.
