Vinátta was still relatively new but gaining strength with every passing day. Each moment was like the turn of a carousel; the feeling was dizzying but the thrill of the ride was limitless, empowering in ways that she'd never considered until now. After the assault, Lilin had remained within and around the pack lands out of respect for her family's wishes. She hadn't gone back to Hilsburn, nor traveled down the familiar earthen trail leading to Amherst. It was a big compromise in itself- staying grounded in one place made her feel caged; she was unable to spread her wings and satiate her growing need for freedom and independence. Her wanderings were limited to Jordheim and the Grand Lake. Occasionally, a newcomer's beckoning would spice up her day until dusk rolled in - a time when Saul would come and quench her yearning for affection; a dose that would barely last her another day.

It had been an ordinary afternoon spent at the Godja's side: idle chit-chats and the reconditioning of the grove, now considered sacred by the believers. The two females had separated when they'd had enough- Miskunn had returned to her earthen dwelling and Lilin had gone east, aiming to find solace in the rejuvenating waters of the Grand Lake. The Virding had purposely taken the long way around though, breaking her routine by breaching the borders and hugging the outskirts of unclaimed territory; it was a pointless thing to do, but the subtle change in scenery was enough to uplift her dampened spirits. Never would she have expected to stumble across a scrawny-looking youngster further down, crouched and alert. Despite her young age, the girl had the right idea; the lake was a fresh source of water for more than canines.

Lilin couldn't help but come to a halt, debating whether or not to disrupt the loner's search for a likely meal. ''I've had better luck around night-time with smaller prey,'' she finally offered, her tone of voice quiet and paired with a few flicks of her tail. The Soulstorm heir was of course referring to this particular area; knowing that her pack's hustle and bustle around the lake often kept victims away until the moon shone bright.
