He missed the days when his father would come home with something good to feast on, now he and Tasha had to rely on their not so reliable mother. Amaranth made sure they were fed of course, but some days she could be unpredictable. Hei was guessing this was one of those days if she had left him with her mother. He just hoped Tasha was okay. They didn’t talk much about when mommy got weird, but both tried to make a point of being exceptionally good for her and simply avoiding her if she was in a weird mood. Hongree! He chirped.

Me en Tosh russel! He exclaimed, jumping forward at his young Aunt as if he were about to wrestle her, but stopping short of pouncing her. He knew she wasn’t fond of his licks, and he was taught to respect his elders and especially females so he trotted back to Ayita’s side. But sumtimes I jus go ‘splorin, he said with a slight nod. Exploring was something he really enjoyed especially around the kingdom. Usually he could find something good and shiny to bring back to his family’s hotel room.

Hei’s stomach growled again and the puppy anxiously whined with want. Oh yes Gammy, Hei loves babbit, his little paint dipped tail began to wag back and forth again as he playfully pawed at his grandmother’s legs. She could've been holding bones over his head and he would’ve wanted them. That’s how hungry a growing pup was! He simply needed to eat something or he’d surely die of the starvation he felt.
