They were leaving now! The previous day the boat had been prepped. Excitement filled the pup, dreading at the same time that she would be leaving her family behind for this. Her talnala would still be here when she got back. Dalgina knew that. She still felt nervous at the thought of leaving them behind. At least Tehu would be coming with her. She could always rely on him to be there, even when everyone else was gone. She loved Keldava, but her sister was always off somewhere. Mahn and Papa were busy as well. She loved them all, but this would be her first time away from them.
The boat was pulled in, Jerome standing at the front waving for members to start coming on. Animals had been brought on the night before, so it was already a noisy place to be. Now they would be sailing though. Tehu ran his beak through her hair before lifting off, flying ahead of her. It was a beautiful sight, wings lifting in the wind. The kestrel landed, perching on the mast of the ship. Smiling Dalgina ran up after him, the wind pulling at her black hair. She clambered onto the boat, looking out to what was out there with an eager smile on her face.
