Strel crossed his arms across his chest and shook his head ta the boy's smile. He was trying to be snarky with him, and it was simply not going to work. "Perhaps isn't good enough for me, boy." He was glad that he had food on hand, since he really needed to get some shoved down this boy's throat soon. He was going to have to be careful with him though, since Ahiga seemed like a terribly temperamental youth. Strel was not careful and his tact left something to be desired. He excelled at being nosy and a busybody, but he was not one to be comforting and sweet. It was easiest to drink away his problems and avoid talking to anyone else about theirs. It just.. made everything a lot simpler. "We'll see if there's anything you want now, maybe talk to someone medicine savvy for what we can do to get you some more weight. Too skinny for your bones."
The Dauphin paused, wondering why his nephew had frozen. He turned on his heels and stared at the youth. He had caught his words and was confused. Did Ahiga mean that he did not want to go to the Hotel, or that he did not want to be alone? Strel looked at the boy, furrowing his brows in confusion. "What don't you want to, Ahiga?" he asked gently, hoping to coax the information out of him. If he had come this far, surely he would be in a more willing mood to divulge personal things. Not that Strel would blame him for keeping things in. He had been alone for a long time. But so had he, hadn't he?
It was high time for the two of them to get over their problems, especially with each other. They had the same issues, so why couldn't they work together to fix this? Couldn't they? Strel would just bite the bullet and try his hardest to do it, even if Ahiga didn't want it. God damn it, he would try even if it killed the both of them.
