New friend, new skill

Evening, Pictou Falls

After meeting and talking with the interesting man by the name of Saul, Torok decided to continue on and see what else this new land had to offer. As the scent of a buck filled his nose, his head snapped up. Mouth watering already, he kept downwind of the deer as he moved closer. Fraya flew ahead of him, landing on a branch close to the buck. He took the dagger from the sheath on his ankle as he got even closer. Once he was close enough, Torok leaped forward, thrusting the dagger into the buck’s side, just behind its front leg. It didn’t take long before the buck went down, his body becoming still as its last breath left him.

His ear twitched as Torok heard rushing water nearby, perfect for skinning and cleaning the deer. Fraya followed close behind as Torok made his way to a river, finding the waterfall it came from relaxing. It didn’t take long for him to expertly skin the deer and clean the pelt and his dagger. Once he was finished, he laid the skin down to dry out and tan as he turned to the meat. He cut some of the meat into strips and laid them out as well to make jerky so he could save it. There was still a large amount of meat left and he knew him and Fraya couldn’t eat it all by themselves, he couldn’t carry much more either. He just had a small pouch to carry extra food. Perhaps there was another around that would want to share his meal.
